100 years later, shipwreck found in Lake Superior
The Duluth News Tribune reported the group found the wreck last month in about 535 feet of water off the shore of Marquette, Mich. The group says it hasn't seen the name of the ship on the wreck yet, but all signs indicate it's the Smith, sitting amid a spilled load of iron ore.

To the Telegram: Superior resident Bud Brand has gained notoriety recently as an amateur poet. Over the past two years, he has had two poems printed by the Minneapolis Star Tribune, three of his works have appeared in the “Poetry Corner” section of the Duluth News Tribune, and on nine occasions his writings have been used by former UW-Superior professor Dr. Bernie Hughes in his “Aging” column in the Superior Telegram.
