The family of our beloved Sigrid A. Olson is sad to announce her passing on Oct. 17, 2013.
She was one of 13 children born to Nels and Johanna Olson on April 20, 1920 in Superior. She attended Waino Grade School and graduated Waino High School. After graduation, she married and had six children, whom she raised and loved unconditionally. She loved to cook, bake, garden and in her 50's taught herself to knit beautiful sweaters and afghans for family and amazed all with her artistic designs.
She is survived by her children, Patricia Sigrid MacKay, Lynnwood, Wash. and her children, Patrick, Mark, Neil (Leeza), Elizabeth (Gary), and Joseph; Sharon Pittman (Donne) Mukilteo, Wash. and their children, Douglas (Julie), Diana (Scott), Daniel, Dale (Tanna), Kooros (Maria), and Donovan; Max Minahan (Sheri) Marysville, Wash. and their children, Melissa and Shannon; Sandra Bain, Omak, Wash. and her daughter Jessica and 'adopted' daughter Amanda; James Minahan, Bellingham, Wash. and Michael Minahan (Mercedes), Seattle, Wash. and their daughter Lucia.
She has 11 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.
She is also survived by two sisters, Lorraine Hill, Minnesota, and Olive Kronberg, Superior, nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; three grandsons, David Pittman (Sharon), Phillip Daugherty (Patricia), and Jeffery Jay Massey (Sandra); brothers, Carl, Henry, Albin, Conrad, and two infant brothers both named Arthur; and sisters, Edwarda "Vida" Olson, Clara Olson, Nellie Sarkkinen and Millie Hill.
Sigrid "Siggie" was known as the sweetest and kindest person by all who knew her, and loved and adored by her family and many friends.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. Oct. 26, at Precht - Harrison - Nearents Chapel, 2547 Elmway, Okanogan, WA 98840.
