Charles M. "Charlie" Fisher, 66, lifelong Superior resident, was taken by the hand of the Lord and lead home on Friday, Oct. 11, 2013, at Essentia Health St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth.
He was born on Sept, 7, 1947, in Superior to Charles P. and Mary Lou (Samuelson) Fisher.
Charlie served in the United States Army and served two tours in Viet Nam.
He married Pamela Earhart on Sept, 2, 1989, in Carlton, Minn. and celebrated 29 years of marriage.
Charlie was employed as a letter carrier with the United States Postal Service for over 30 years, retiring in 2011.
He was a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers and the ATV Club of Douglas County. He was also interested in camping, gardening and wood working. He would hand make ships such as Lakers and Schooners from Balsam wood that he would cut and strip himself.
Charlie was an avid golfer, being a member of the Nemadji Golf Course, its Men's League and the Senior League.
In addition to his wife Pam, Charlie is survived by a stepson, Thomas Earhart, Superior; a stepdaughter, Amy (Patrick) West, Superior; two grandchildren, John "The Boy" R. Earhart and Morgan N. West, both of Superior; two brothers, Tom (Donna) Fisher, Superior, Richard (Dala) Fisher, Superior and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday, October 17 at the Nemadji Clubhouse at the Nemadji Golf Course, 5 No. 58th St. E., Superior, with his wife Pam as officiant.
