James G. Ksicinski, 70, South Range, died Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013 at the Solvay Hospice House in Duluth.
He was born on Nov. 11, 1942 in Milwaukee, Wis. to Edward and Mary (Nedza) Ksicinski.
Jim graduated from Boys Tech High School in Milwaukee in 1959. He then went on to serve his country for over 37 years in the United States Army, Air Force and the 148 Fighter Wing, Air National Guard.
He was also employed with the 148th Fighter Wing in Duluth as a Federal Technician in the Explosive Ordinance Disposal section. Jim was a part time Deputy for Douglas County Sheriffs Department, a Sergeant for the Lake Nebagamon Police Dept, and with the U.S. Federal Protective Service.
He married Susan Martineau on May 2, 1987 and celebrated 26 years of marriage.
Jim was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, the Elks Lodge No. 403 and a life member of the V.F.W.
In addition to his wife Susan, Jim is survived by four sons, Andrew (Becky), Duluth, James (Amy McCarthy), Duluth, Korri (Shawnu Albertus), Superior, and Marc, South Range; four grandchildren, Emma, Caroline, Zachary and Chloe; one brother, Gregory (Ruth Ann) Ksicinski, Milwaukee, Wis. and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will begin at 10 until the 11 a.m. Memorial Mass on Wednesday, Sept. 11 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with Rev. James Tobolski as celebrant.
Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery where military honors will be accorded by the Richard I. Bong American Legion Post No. 435 Honor Guard and the Grand Forks Air Force Base Honor Guard. The Patriot Guard will also be present at these services.
Honorary pallbearers for the service will be Jim's grandchildren.
