Betty M. LeMier, 79, Neenah, Wis., passed away following a long illness on Friday, Aug. 16, 2013, at Oakridge Gardens, Menasha, Wis., surrounded by her family.
She was born on Feb. 27, 1934, in Duluth, daughter of Jay and Lois (Walker) Botsford. Betty married Gilbert J. LeMier on Sept. 17, 1954. He preceded her in death on November 22, 2009. In Betty's younger years, she enjoyed music, dancing, softball, and bowling. She worked as a cook for the University of Wisconsin at Superior and the Recovery Center, Wentworth, Wis. for many years. In November of 2005, Betty and Gilbert moved to the Fox Valley area. Betty enjoyed playing piano, trips to the casino, and spending time with her family and cat "Gordy."
Betty is survived by a daughter, Nola (Lasfalk) DeFranza and her husband Larry; two grandchildren, Nicole (Kyle) Beardsley and Kristen Sickler; three great-grandchildren, Owen and Fiona Sickler, and Jackson Beardsley; a sister-in-law: Lillian Botsford, and many friends.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, Gerald and Jack Botsford; and a sister, June Botsford.
Visitation will be from 10 until the 11 a.m. memorial services Thursday, August 22 at the Kessler Funeral Home, 304 S. Commercial St., Neenah, with Rev. Dennis Ellisen officiating.
Betty's family would like to thank the 2nd floor St. Elizabeth Hospital Doctors and staff, and the Oakridge Gardens and Heartland Hospice staff for the wonderful care given to Betty.
