Helen R. Anderson, 81, of Cumberland, Wis. died Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013 at Golden Age Manor in Amery, Wis.
She was born June 2, 1932 in Superior to John and Roza (Gill) Johnson. She was married in Pine City, Minn. on April 15, 1961 to Robert Anderson. While residing in Superior, Trego, and Amnicon Lake, Helen operated and managed several restaurants. She loved working in her yard, gardening and birdwatching; as well as taking time to relax on her deck, overlooking the lake, with coffee and her friends. Helen loved her role as a wife, mom, and "Grandma."
She is survived by her devoted husband, Robert Anderson Sr., of Cumberland Wis.; four children, George (Debra) Anderson of Cumberland, Wis., Carl (Susan) Anderson of Superior, Robert Anderson, Jr. of Lake Elmo, Minn., Shirley (Dennis) Carroll of Superior and her "adopted" son Gordy Pendergrass of Trego, Wis.; 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; one sister, Florence Booker of Amnicon Lake; and her beloved dog, Bently.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Edwin and Charlie; and one sister Esther Kasper.
Helen's family would especially like to thank the caring staff at Judy's Cottage for their excellent care.
Funeral services will be held at the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery at a later date.
