David Zeig, 66, of Superior, died Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013, at St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth, due to heart failure after a one year illness.
David Zeig, 66, of Superior, died Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013, at St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth, due to heart failure after a one year illness.
David was born Dec. 4, 1946, in Ladysmith, Wis. to Anthony and Mary Zeig. He lived 20 years in Superior and 46 years in Rusk County. He was involved with the Salvation Army and St. Vincent DePaul. He was a member of St. Frances Catholic Church in Superior and Cathedral of Christ the King in Superior.
David is survived by his brother, Ray (Nancy) Zeig of Hayward, Wis.; his sisters, Sharon (Ken) Jenness of Bruce, Wis., Marilyn (Ted) Weingarten of Bruce, Wis., Louise (Mike) Noha of Bruce, Wis. and Joan (Keith) Dost of Ladysmith; his nieces Carie, Jenifer, Melissa and Christy; and his nephews Rodney, James and Daniel.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his twin brother, Paul, and his good friend Al Bonanno of Ladysmith, Wis.
A funeral service was held Saturday, Feb. 9, at Our Lady of Sorrows Church with Fr. Chris Kemp officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery. The Nash-Jackan Funeral Home assisted with the arrangements.
David was a caring person who frequented downtown Superior restaurants and was always ready for a friendly visit.
