Agnes S. O'Brien, 99, lifelong Superior resident, died Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013, in her home.
Agnes S. O'Brien, 99, lifelong Superior resident, died Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013, in her home.
She was born on Sept. 15, 1913 in Superior to Gust and Inga (Risto) Peterson.
Agnes was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, the Church's Women's Group and the Sew and Sew Quilting club.
She is survived by one son, Dale F. (Charlene) O'Brien, Superior; one daughter, Geraldine F. (Leonard) Pesis, Las Vegas, Nev.; six grandchildren, Steven Pesis, Oklahoma City, Okla., David (Becky) O'Brien, Cloquet, Minn., Catherine (Rod) Anderson, Osseo, Wis., Molly Pesis, Las Vegas, Nev., John (Tammy) O'Brien, Iron River and Melissa (Jeff) Owsley, Woodbury, Minn.; 10 great-grandchildren, Michael and Anthony Pesis, Oklahoma City, Okla., Caitlin Anderson, Woodbury, Minn., Becca (Peter) Andersen, San Francisco, Calif., Alyssa (Greg) Basthemer, Milwaukee, Wis., Lindsy O'Brien, Mankato, Minn., Kelly (Tim) Beaster, Duluth, Sean O'Brien, Iron River, Nicholas and Delaney Owsley, Woodbury, Minn.; one great-great-grandson, Connor Andersen and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Vern; a grandson, Tracy O'Brien; her parents; six sisters, Thea, Marie, Gladys, Bernice, Myrtle and Eileen and one brother, Halvor.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service on Monday, March 4 at Zion Lutheran Church with Rev. Patrick Ziems, officiating.
Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
