Donna Root, 49, lifelong Superior resident, died peacefully Friday, Feb. 22, 2013 unexpectedly in her home.
Donna Root, 49, lifelong Superior resident, died peacefully Friday, Feb. 22, 2013 unexpectedly in her home.
She was born Oct. 8, 1963 in Superior to Orville and Betty Bender.
She was a lifetime active member of the Salvation Army where she served as a Sunday School teacher, a bell ringer and a League of Mercy worker.
Donna loved children, fishing and traveling and she will always be remembered for her beautiful smile.
She had been employed as a child care provider.
Donna is survived by her parents, Orville and Betty Bender, Superior; one sister, Doreen (Jim) Timmerman, Superior; one brother, Dan (Wendy) Bender, South Range; two nieces, Alicia Bender, Superior, Ashley (Josiah) Davey, Superior; two nephews, Charlie Bender, Superior, Skylar Edquist; one great-niece, Lacy Danielson; one great-nephew, Kacy Bachand; one sister-in-law, Charlotte (Lloyd) Carlson, Superior and three brothers-in-law, Russell (Mary) Root, Eau Claire, Wis., Lowell (Elaine) Root, Eau Claire, Wis. and Gerald Root, Duluth, Minn..
She was preceded in death by her husband George in 2008.
Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. and will continue until the 1 p.m. funeral service on Thursday, Feb. 28 at the Salvation Army, 916 Hughitt Ave., with Major Jacob Bender, retired and Major Rosemary Matson of the Salvation Army, co-officiating.
