Linda Hendrickson

Linda Hendrickson, 89, Superior, died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013, at Villa-Marina Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on Nov. 13, 1923, in Oulu, Wis. to John and Mathilda Colby.

Linda Hendrickson, 89, Superior, died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013, at Villa-Marina Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on Nov. 13, 1923, in Oulu, Wis. to John and Mathilda Colby.

She graduated from high school and went on to earn her LPN degree. She was employed at Middle River Health and Rehabilitation Center for 23 years before retiring on March 31, 1987.

Linda was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Red Hat Ladies, Moose Club, Nursing Association from Middle River Health and Rehabilitation Center and the Amnicon Senior Citizens.

She was very well known for her hand loomed rugs of finest quality. She was famous for her homemade bread that was declared as "best in the county".

She will be remembered as a hard worker with a good sense of humor who always placed the care of her people, whether they were patients or neighbors, as the top priority. She loved her bus trips to the casino and playing cards.

Linda is survived by two sons, Larry (Sherri) Hendrickson, Poplar, Wis., Richard (Sharon) Heikkila, Prescott, Wis.; two daughters, Gloria (Milton) Olson, Poplar, Wis., Tamera (Charles Nelson) Larson, Superior; nine grandchildren, Brad (Louise) Olson, Anchorage, Alaska, Norman (Julie) Olson, Anchorage, Alaska, Erik (Nina) Olson, Poplar, Lucas Hendrickson, Pasadena, Md., Angela Larson, Superior, Kimberly Nelson, Superior, Latha Palani, Spanish Fork, Utah, Marcus Larson, Superior, Christopher Nelson, Superior; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Emil Colby, Sheboygan, Wis.; special nieces, Judy White, Maple, Wis., Rosanne Hoffren, Arizona, Carol Clark, Superior; special nephew, Michael Colby, Iron River and many other nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Matt Edward Hendrickson on April 12, 2002; her parents; four sisters, Ailie, Hilma, Ina and Elaine and four brothers, Waino, Bill, Edwin and Elmer Colby.

Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. memorial service on Monday, Feb. 25, at Faith Lutheran Church in Maple, Wis. with Rev. John Knierim, officiating.

Burial will be in the Finnish Apostolic Lutheran Cemetery in Maple.

Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Our sympathies in the passing of Linda. We are in TX now so can't come to the funeral. But we will miss her at our breakfast get togethers and at Church. Paul and Delores Hakkila

Gloria, Dickie, Larry, and Tammy--so sorry to hear of this. It was terrific that she spent her working career as a nurse. She was a sweet, sweet lady. All the family will miss her. My sincere condolences, Craig
