Ullan Joanne Marybeth Ullan, 74, a lifelong resident of Superior died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013 in her residence.
Joanne Marybeth Ullan, 74, a lifelong resident of Superior died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013 in her residence.
She was born on Sept. 7, 1939 to Clara (Prohaska) and Joseph Sladky, who preceded her in death.
She was a graduate of Superior Central High School.
Richard L. Ullan and Joanne were married in St. Patrick's Church in April of 1958.
Joanne was a "crafty lady" who enjoyed doing a variety of crafts, which included Christmas ornaments, and she also liked to sew. She could fix anything and was the most organized person whoever walked the face of the earth. She had an extensive collection of "Garfield" items. She enjoyed feeding and watching the deer who visited their yard. Joanne loved her Newfoundland, "Smokey" and her two "grand-puppies", Deacon and Morgan.
She was employed as an office manager for 20 plus years at Auto Glass Specialists in Duluth, Minn. She had previously worked at Holden's Insurance Agency, the AAA travel office and F. I. Salter Co.
Joanne is lovingly remembered by her husband, Richard; children, Raymond "Rick" (Becky) Ullan of Lake Nebagamon, Linda (Jeffrey) Austin of South Range, Jeffery Ullan of Hibbing, Minn. and Scott Ullan of Blaine, Minn.; five grandchildren, Jason, Justin, Amanda (Joe), Max and Ryan; a step-granddaughter, Jennifer; a great-grandson, Caleb; four step-great-grandchildren, Blair, Bryce, Brody and Gabby; two sisters, Marie Sladky and Georgianna Scritsmier; and two nephews and one niece.
Visitation will begin one hour prior to the 11 a.m. celebration of her life will be on Saturday, Feb. 23 at Darrow Road Wesleyan Church with Lay Minister, James McCusker officiating.
