Theodore "Ted" M. Frostman, 79, of Sheboygan, Wis., passed away on Monday evening, Feb. 11, 2013, at Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center.
Theodore "Ted" M. Frostman, 79, of Sheboygan, Wis., passed away on Monday evening, Feb. 11, 2013, at Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center.
Ted was born on Aug. 8, 1933, in Washburn, Wis., to Hjalmer and Amelia (Boriin) Frostman.
He attended South Shore schools, earned a Bachelor's Degree from UW-Superior, and later, a Master's Degree from the University of Northern Iowa. Ted spent over 20 years as a high school teacher and coach, starting his career at Prairie Farm High School, and later teaching at Kohler High School, and Riverdale High School. His later career was in the arena of environmental consulting with several firms, and he remained active in environmental concerns for many years.
Ted was a member of First United Lutheran Church in Sheboygan. He was a member of the Kohler Police Athletic League and Elks BPO Lodge 299. Ted was an avid outdoorsman, and always expressed concern for the environment.
Ted is survived by daughters, Kay (Dennis) Welcher, of Sheboygan, Wis., Debra Jacobs of Mt. View, Calif., and Colleen (Brian) Pietenpol of Land 'O Lakes, Wis., and his son, Scott (Beth) Frostman of Baraboo, Wis. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Valarie (Jason) Frost, Lindsey (Jeff) Welcher, Westley (Erin) Welcher, Heidi (Andrew) Schroeder, Collin and ZoeAnn Frostman, and Kendra and Angela Pietenpol. He is further survived by seven great-grandchildren, Regan, Ashton, Ashley, Alina, Kylar, Cameron, and Jacoby. He is also survived by one sister, Dorothy Kangas of Iron River, Wis. and many nieces and nephews. Ted is also survived by Shirley Baye. He touched so many of his student's lives and it enriched his life as well as theirs.
Ted was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, three sisters, former wife, Helen Dodge Frostman, and a son, Brian D. Frostman.
Relatives and friends may call at the First United Lutheran Church in Sheboygan, Wis. on Friday, Feb. 15 from 4-8 p.m. and also on Saturday, Feb. 16 from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral services. Rev. Todd Smith officiating. Burial will take place in Pine Glade Cemetery in Oulu, Wis. at a later date.
A memorial fund has been established in Ted's name.
