Ted was born Feb. 11, 1948 in Gordon to the late Danny & Violet (Phillips) Welch.
Ted married Nancy Fields on July 19, 1969. They enjoyed 43 wonderful years together.
He served his country honorably in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War earning the Bronze Star with Valar.
Ted owned and operated “Ted’s Repair and Remodeling” he retired in 2007. Ted invented the “Ted’ EZE Fish Bottom Rigs”.
Ted was an active member of the Gordon and Wascott Fire Department, he gave 22 years of faithful service to his community, and also the America Legion Lockman Jensen Post No. 499 of Gordon. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting, fishing, and golf.
Among those who survive and gratefully shared his life is his wife of 43 years Nancy of Wascott; two daughters Betty (Brian) Ebert of Gordon and Terri Welch (Bill Baures) of Fountain City, Wis.; three granddaughters Chelcie Ebert of Gordon, Kayla Welch of Gordon and Bailie Neubauer of Fountain City, Wis.; and all of his loving brothers and sisters and his best friend “Duke”.
Visitation will be 5–8 p.m. Friday evening, Feb. 8 at the Brown Funeral Home in Solon Springs. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 9 at the Gordon Town Hall in Gordon. Rev. Richard Blood will officiate. Military Honors will be accorded by the American Legion Lockman Jensen Post No. 499 of Gordon.
Pallbearers will be Chris Smith, Tom Chandler, Scott Pearson, Mike Volby, Andy Welch, and Jeff Welch.
In Lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Gordon-Wascott Fire Dept. P.O. Box 68 Gordon, WI 54838.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Solon Springs. Online condolences may be shared at www.brownfuneralhome.net
Ted will always be remembered for his “Laugh”.
