Gertrude M. During, 91, lifelong resident of Superior, died Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013, at Villa Marina Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Gertrude M. During, 91, lifelong resident of Superior, died Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013, at Villa Marina Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Gertrude was born on Nov. 3, 1921, the daughter of Ezra and Ruie Blaisdell.
She was a member of Country Peace Presbyterian Church.
Gertrude loved cooking and baking for everyone. Most important to her was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she loved to play cards with and brought her great joy.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Chester; daughter, Marge Clark; son-in-law, Joe Kimmes, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Deborah Stalvig; granddaughter, LuAnn Carlson; grandsons, Mark Clark, Joe Kimmes III, Scott Kimmes, Tim Schmid; the father of her children, Henry Stalvig; and her brothers and sisters, Mable, Louis, Will and Bob.
Gertrude is survived by her children, Ruie (Bud) Carlson of Superior, Kathy Kimmes of Superior, Barb (Dan) Aunet of Danbury and Roger Stalvig of Superior; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Her memorial service will be on Thursday, Feb. 7 at 11 a.m. at Country Peace Presbyterian Church. Rev. Richard Blood will officiate. Visitation will begin one hour prior. Inurnment will be in Greenwood Cemetery in the spring.
