Gladys J. Winek, 96, of Superior, died Friday, Feb. 1, 2013, at St. Francis Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Gladys J. Winek, 96, of Superior, died Friday, Feb. 1, 2013, at St. Francis Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Gladys was born in Superior on Jan. 13, 1917, the daughter of Alfred and Kristina Scheldroup.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Randall Dahlen; brothers, Fred, Arnie and Henry Scheldroup; and a sister, Jennie Botten.

Gladys is survived by her husband of 74 years, Stanley; two daughters, Nancy Zembo of Foxboro and Barbara (Albin) Dahlen of Duluth; two sons, Robert (Mary Kay) Winek of South Range and Richard Winek of Superior; a sister Ethel Grauberger of Seattle Wash.; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

A private family funeral service was held at Downs Funeral Home.

The family wants to thank the dedicated nursing staff at St. Francis in the Park for the kind, loving care they gave to our Mother for the last two years.
