David’s life ended tragically not long after his 43 birthday in a motorcycle accident in Denver, Colo. David was an avid NASCAR (Tony Stewart) fan and was a talented auto body technician. He was a good natured, free spirit that was always traveling and moving around and had lived in Kentucky, Georgia, Wisconsin, Minnesota and Colorado. He was loved and admired and will be missed by many close friends.
David was preceded in death by his birth mother, Linda Haase, and father, Dennis Wicklund.
David is survived by his daughter Ashlee Wicklund (mother Kim Blume); his mother Neila (Patrick) Kilgore; his sisters, Melissa (Gary) Van Overmeiren, Amy (Eric) Altman, April Wicklund, and a very special niece Ashley (Rob) Frechette; his brothers, Rick (Ronda) Wicklund, Jeremy (Teresa) Wicklund, Kaleb (Carrie) Wicklund and several nieces and nephews; and a great niece and nephew; his prior wife Penny (Ryan Polaski) Wicklund, and his stepchildren Kayla Polaski, Ashley Polaski and John Polaski.
A memorial celebration will be held at the Belgian Club 3-6 p.m. Saturday Jan. 26. All friends and family are invited to honor David and share in the celebration of his life. Any and all donations will be used to enhance his daughter Ashlee’s future.
