Violet was born in Duluth on May 26, 1912 the daughter of Richard and Dahlia Forsberg.
She graduated from Duluth Central High School. She was a member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church and Chapter BU of PEO.
Violet was a great people- person who made lasting friendships wherever she went. A gracious hostess and talented cook, she loved to entertain. She enjoyed spending winters in Bonita Beach, Fla. and fishing at her Lake Vermilion summer home. She was an avid golfer who recorded a hole in one on March 23, 1980.
Violet is survived by her two daughters, Karen (David) Carlson of Edina, Minn., and Linda (Cal) Johnson of Minnetonka, Minn.; grandchildren, Sarah (Chris) Morris, Jon (Karlene Beck) Carlson, Linnea (Daniel) Josephson, Eric (Susie) Johnson, Joanna (Dan) Page, Laura (Mark) Muhlstein; 10 great-grandchildren; a nephew, John Forsberg of St. Louis, Mo., whom she helped raise; and several other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy, her parents , and two brothers, Herbert and Evert Forsberg.
Visitation will begin one hour prior to her 11 a.m. funeral service on Fri. Jan. 18 at Pilgrim Lutheran Church. Rev. Will Mowchan will officiate. Entombment will be in Park Hill Cemetery, Duluth.
