Cindy Sue Ledin
Cindy Sue Ledin, 57, of Ashland, passed away Monday, Dec. 31, 2012, at Essentia Health, in Duluth, Minn. She was born Feb. 17, 1955, in Ashland, the daughter of Carl "Bill" and Lorraine (Lund) Ledin.
Cindy Sue Ledin, 57, of Ashland, passed away Monday, Dec. 31, 2012, at Essentia Health, in Duluth, Minn. She was born Feb. 17, 1955, in Ashland, the daughter of Carl "Bill" and Lorraine (Lund) Ledin.
In 1973, she graduated from Ashland High School and later attended Northland College, for four years. She worked as a band director and teacher for St. Agnes Catholic School, in Ashland. For many years, Cindy taught for the schools, in Superior and also taught music privately. She married Ben Tampio, in Lake Nebagamon. She played music with the Ashland City Band and with the Northwinds Recorder Consort. Cindy loved her dog, Rebel.
She is survived by her daughter, Maria (Dominic) Ackerson, Solon Springs; two step-children, Scott and Vincent Tampio; a granddaughter, Isabella Ackerson, Solon Springs; a step-grandson, Holden Tampio; two sisters, Linda (Frank) Kostka, Ashland and Kathy (Jack) Berweger, Las Vegas, Nev.; a brother, Tim Ledin, Ashland; partner, Dick Peltonen, Ashland; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ben Tampio in 1997; a sister, Betty Bullok; and a brother, Butch Ledin.
A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, at Frost Home for Funerals, in Ashland.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, on Saturday, at the funeral home.
