Clifford L. Lenling, 76, formerly of Poplar, passed away after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012, at the William S. Middleton Memorial V.A. Hospital in Madison, Wis.
Cliff was born on April 10, 1936 in Groton, S.D., and was the son of Leonard and Marie (Inglis) Lenling. Cliff married Joan (Kozak) on Nov. 23, 1956. After serving with the U.S. Army, he worked for the Borg Corp., in Delavan, Wis., for 19 years, and then at the Sta-Rite Corp. for 24 years until his retirement.
Cliff loved the outdoors and hunting, and moved to Poplar in 1997. He and his wife Joan built a beautiful home and enjoyed the 13 years they lived there. He was a member of the American Legion Post 0409 in Poplar where he played the bugle and was Chaplain. His biggest thrill was to shoot a 10-point buck the first year he lived in Poplar.
He is survived by his wife Joan who currently lives in Madison; his daughters, Cathy (Bruce) Baillie of Brule, Amy (Mike) Pohl of Holmdel, N.J.; and his son Tom Lenling of Madison Wis.; six grandchildren; Michaela, Meg, and Emily Baillie, Tyler Lenling, and Brian and Nate Pohl. Cliff has three sisters and six brothers.
The funeral will be held 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 16 at the Monroe Funeral Home, in Delavan, Wis.
