Wayde M. Gerber, 23, lifelong Superior resident, died unexpectedly on Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012 in Essentia Health St. Mary's Medical Center, Superior.
Wayde M. Gerber, 23, lifelong Superior resident, died unexpectedly on Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012 in Essentia Health St. Mary's Medical Center, Superior.
He was born Jan. 27, 1989 in Duluth to Joe and Jane (Norkunas) Gerber.
Wayde attended Marshall School in Duluth and graduated from Superior High School in 2007. He was employed with Fed Ex.
Wayde loved spending time with family and friends and making people laugh. He enjoyed skateboarding and for many years, attending Encounter Skate Park in Duluth.
He enjoyed fishing and sports, especially basketball. He loved sports cars, especially his black GTO. He also enjoyed motocross and U.F.C.
He is survived by his parents, Joe and Jane Gerber, Superior; one sister, Ellie Jo Gerber, Superior; maternal grandparents, James Norkunas, Solon Springs, Margaret Flowers, Superior and several aunts, uncle, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Joe and Eileen "Eli" Grochowski and one uncle, John Edward Norkunas.
Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6 in the Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home. Visitation will continue on Friday, Dec. 7 at Zion Lutheran Church beginning at 10 a.m. until the 12 Noon funeral service with Rev. Patrick Ziems and Rev. Pete Gerber, co-officiating.
Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Superior.

This is heartbreaking. I knew Wayde as he wrestled on my youth wrestling team. Thought he was a wonderful young man. Met his dad from high school and my thoughts go out to him now.Superior, WI 01/11/2013 10:47 PM
