Erwin C. Johnson 79 of Las Vegas Nev. lost his brief battle with cancer on Friday, Nov. 16, 2012.
He was born Dec. 23,1932 in Superior to Jalmer and Carrie Johnson.
Shortly after graduation from Central High School he joined the Air Force where he became a air traffic controller in Northern Japan. Erwin retired from Consolidated Freight Ways in Portland, Ore. having worked in the computer department. Upon retirement he moved to Las Vegas Nev. where he helped raise his beloved granddaughters Yancy and Carrie.
He is survived by his brother Dale Johnson (Peggy) of Las Vegas, Nev.; his sister Carole Rundell (Robert) of The Dalles, Ore.; his son Bradley Johnson and granddaughters Yancy and Carrie all of Las Vegas, Nev.; daughter Karen and son Rick and their children of Portland Ore., and a nephew Scott Johnson and niece Sarah Johnson both from Grand Forks, Minn.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Julie.
A private memorial service was held in Las Vegas, Nev.
Arrangements were made by Simply Cremation Mortuary of Las Vegas, Nev.
