James W. Miller, 61, of Superior, died Thursday, Nov. 22, 2012, at his residence.
James W. Miller, 61, of Superior, died Thursday, Nov. 22, 2012, at his residence.
He was born Dec. 5, 1950, in Superior, son of Bertha (Ward) and Albert Miller.
Jim was a 1969 graduate of Superior Senior High School.
He proudly served his country with the U.S. Army in Vietnam.
Jim worked many years as an ore handler for the Burlington Northern Railroad at their taconite facility in Allouez.
Reading his Bible and meditating on God’s word, and loving his children and grandchildren were his priorities.
Preceding him in death were his parents; brother, John Miller; and sisters, Isabelle "Budy" Edlund and Irene Edlund.
Survivors include his daughters, Heidi (Dan) Bahauddin, Andover, Minn. and Jamie Miller, Forest Lake, Minn.; sons, Daniel Miller and Curtis Miller, both of Maplewood, Minn.; 10 grandchildren; sisters, Carol (Gerald) Edlund, Apple Valley, Minn., and Debra (Michael) See, Superior; brothers, Albert W. (Roxanne) Miller, Superior, and Dennis (Barbara) Miller, Hawkins, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the noon service, Wednesday, Nov. 28 at Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N. 19th St., Superior. Reverend Father Andrew Ricci, rector of Cathedral of Christ the King will officiate.
Inurnment will be held at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, Minn., at a later date.
