Gayle R. Martin, 72 of Superior, passed away Monday, Nov. 19, 2012, at Golden Living Center, Superior.

She was born June 4, 1940, in Superior to Robert and Avis (Silver) Dow.

Gayle attended school in Superior and graduated from Central High School 1958. For a time, she worked at Kresge's on Tower Ave., but her greatest joy was being a wife, mother and grandmother.

Gayle was baptized in symbolization of her dedication to Jehovah God on Sept. 6, 1952 and was part of the Superior Congregation since then. In 1957, the Dow family attended the District Convention of Jehovah's Witnesses in Milwaukee, and on July 17, she met Jim. They married on July 16, 1960 and continued to grow in love over 52 years.

Gayle enjoyed sewing, flower gardening and spending time visiting and shopping with her sister Darlyne. The Martin family would like to convey special thanks to the "family" at Golden Living Center ACU who took Gayle into their home and hearts for the last five and a half years and to the nurses at St. Luke's Hospice for their kind assistance. You are all very special people!

Gayle was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Avis Dow and brother, Robert Dow, Jr.

She is survived by her loving husband, James W. Martin; son and daughter-in-law, Shawn and Lynetta Martin; grandsons, James I. Martin, Jonathan Martin and Noah Martin; and a sister, Darlyne Johnson, all of Superior; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Memorial service is at 2 p.m., Sat. Nov. 24 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 7815 Tower Ave., Superior.
