Dorlene June Schwandt, 87, of Virginia, Minn. died on Monday, Nov. 5, 2012 at Essentia Health-SMDC in Duluth.
Dorlene June Schwandt, 87, of Virginia, Minn. died on Monday, Nov. 5, 2012 at Essentia Health-SMDC in Duluth.
Dorlene was born on June 24, 1925 in Superior to Ernest and Esther (Nelson) Nelson.
She graduated from the former Central High School in 1943. On Sept. 29, 1945 she was united in marriage to Vernon E. Schwandt in Superior. They moved to Virginia, Minn. in 1955. She was an active member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church. Dorlene was a loving wife, mother and friend.
She is survived by her husband, Vernon; daughters, Kristine (Tom) Panfil of Jamal, Calif., Debra R. Schwandt of Minneapolis, Minn.; grandson, Derek (Leah) Panfil of Milford, Mich.; nephews and cousins.
Dorlene was preceded in death by her parents, brother Kenneth Nelson an niece Karin Nelson.
Services were held Nov. 9 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Virginia, Minn.
