Nancy E. Nikstad, 80, of Superior, died Friday Nov. 9, 2012, in Essentia-St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth.
Nancy E. Nikstad, 80, of Superior, died Friday Nov. 9, 2012, in Essentia-St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth.
Nancy was born April 20, 1932, in Superior to Irving and Odessa (Paquette) Branley.
She was employed by Wisconsin Telephone Company as an operator and supervisor; also she was the switch board operator at Superior Memorial Hospital. She loved cooking and baking. She shared her love unconditionally with others, always putting others first.
Nancy is survived by her daughter, Catherine (Robert) Moniasque of Superior; her grandchildren, Chris (Krystal) Dunbar, Carrie (Jason Behlke) Dunbar, Tina (Ben Hubert) Anderson, Jessica and Michelle Anderson, and Katie (Brad Remington) Anderson; great-grandchildren, Jeffrey, Tyler and Chloe Dunbar, Zachary and Megan Howard, Haley and Dylan Morgan, Lindsey and Caleb Hubert, Alexis and Noah Remington, Emma Anderson and a great-granddaughter on the way; one brother, Thomas Branley, Sr. of New London Wis.; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George; and a daughter, Susan Lane.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the 11 a.m. funeral service Wednesday Nov. 14 in the Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N. 19th St., with Rev. Andrew Ricci officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Chris Dunbar, Jason Behlke, Bradley Remington, Robert Moniasque, Tom Branley Jr. and Jerry Nikstad.
