Melba L. Gronquist (Avant)

Melba L. Gronquist (Avant), 77, of Superior, passed away peacefully Friday, Nov. 2, 2012, at Villa-Marina Health and Rehabilitation Center, Superior.

She was born Nov. 23, 1934, in Lawton, Okla.

Preceding her in death were her husbands, Clifford S. Gronquist and Jack Avant; daughter, Karen Rhodes; sister, Marie Armstrong; and brother, Elden Armstrong.

Survivors include her sons, Eric and Michael Gronquist, both of Superior; eight grandchildren, Mylinda (Bill) Brand, Superior, Roxanne Rhodes, Menomonie, Wis., Clifford (Theresa) Rhodes, Menomonie, Wis., Andy, Asa, Sarah, and Erin Gronquist, and Robert Thoen; and several great-grandchildren.

At her request, Melba will be cremated and no formal services will be held.

Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N. 19th Street, Superior, is assisting the family with arrangements.
