George L. Sherlin Jr.

George L. Sherlin, Jr., 86, of Superior, died Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012 in Golden Living Center.

George L. Sherlin, Jr., 86, of Superior, died Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012 in Golden Living Center.

He was born on March 3, 1926 in Superior to George L. and Ann Sherlin.

George had been a clerk for the Burlington Northern Railroad for many years, retiring when he was 64.

He was an Army veteran of World War II in the European Theater and received the Purple Heart and two Bronze Battle stars

George was extremely fond of children and will be sadly missed by four generations of the Pearson family.

He is survived by the Pearson family.

George was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Dorothy Sherlin.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the 10:30 a.m. funeral service on Thursday, Oct. 25 in the Downs Funeral Home, 19th and Ogden, with Rev. Leon Flaherty officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, where Military rites will be accorded by the Richard I. Bong American Legion Post No. 435.
