Cindy Lou (Kirkwood) Engstrom, 53, of Superior died unexpectedly on Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012.

Cindy Lou (Kirkwood) Engstrom, 53, of Superior died unexpectedly on Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012.

Cindy was born on Oct. 20, 1958, in Superior, the daughter of Delores and James Kirkwood.

She was a 1977, graduate of Superior Senior High School she also attended college at UW-Superior, and graduated in 1995, with a degree in Jewelry Manufacture/Repair from the Minneapolis Technical College. She married the love of her life Gary Engstrom at Pilgrim Lutheran Church on October 21, 1982.

She was a talented artist and had a passion for painting and making jewelry. She loved going camping with her family and friends, she loved to swim and she loved to spend time at her sister Gina's in Solon Springs. She had a wonderful sense of humor, loved making people laugh and she was a kind and gentle person who cared greatly for her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband Gary of Superior, son Jason Kirkwood of Superior, daughter and son-in-law Melissa and Lee Gardner of Waconia, brother James Kirkwood, Jr. of Superior, sister Deborah (Merrill) Gerding of Superior, brother Gerald (Patti) Kirkwood of Superior, sister Kim Bunnell of Superior, sister Gina (Joseph) Rochon, Solon Springs, grandchildren, Halee, Anna and Jon Kirkwood and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Delores and James Kirkwood, brother and sister-in-law Richard and Mary Kirkwood, sister Donna Ojala, father-in-law Robert Engstrom and many other loved ones who she has been reunited with in Heaven.

Funeral service was held on Monday, Oct. 1, at Pilgrim Lutheran Church with Rev. Will Mowchan officiating.

Pallbearers for the service were James Kirkwood, Jr., Jason Kirkwood, Lee Gardner, Joe Rochon, Jerry Kirkwood and Jaime Kirkwood.

Downs-LeSage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

I was so sorry to see that Cindy has passed away, she was one of my good friends in high school. She and I saw many concerts together and spent allot of time together. My deepest sympathy goes out the Cindy's family I am sure her laughter and love will be missed. Tammi (Sather) Dailey
