Lois Jean Fetting, Age 74, of Nelson, Wis., passed away on Friday, Sept. 28, 2012, at St. Elizabeth Nursing Home, Wabasha.

Lois Jean Fetting, Age 74, of Nelson, Wis., passed away on Friday, Sept. 28, 2012, at St. Elizabeth Nursing Home, Wabasha.

Lois was born in La Crosse to Alvin and Sylvia (Hanson) Accola on March 1, 1939. She was baptized and confirmed at S. Paul and St. Luke United Church of Christ in Alma. Lois grew up in Alma and graduated from Alma High School. Lois continued her education, attending UW-Stout where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Home Economics. She then taught in the area schools.

On Dec. 28, 1961, Lois was united in marriage to Robert Fetting. Together, Lois and Bob were blessed with three sons.

Lois and her husband had a wonderful marriage of over 50 years together and through those years they enjoyed their garden, traveling on many cruises and spending time at their second home in Minong, Wis. Her deep love and faith in God was evident in her active role she had at her church. She was a friend to all and ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. She was a loving wife and a devoted mother and grandmother and will always be remembered for her joy, peace, comfort and understanding. Her deep faith sustained her throughout her battle with ALS and she will be sorely missed by all her family and friends.

Lois will be sadly missed but always in the hearts of her husband, Bob; two sons, Mark (Michele) Fetting of Pittsburgh and Jason (Sheri) Fetting of Appleton, Wis.; five grandchildren, Ellie, Leah, Nate, Katherine and Travis; one sister, Carol (Casey) Smith of New Berlin, Wis.; niece, Sarah Smith of California and nephew, Adam Smith of Milwaukee; also by her dear friends.

Preceding Lois in death are her parents and infant son, Paul.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 2 at 11 a.m. at the Talbot Family Funeral Home, Alma Chapel with Pastor Marcy Heil officiating. A time of visitation and support for Lois’ family will be held on Monday, Oct. 1 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. and again on Tuesday, Oct. 2 at 10 a.m. until the hour of service at 11 a.m., all at the funeral home.

Cremation will follow Lois’ service on Tuesday, and all are invited, to attend inurnment services at Alma Public Cemetery at 4 p.m. Online memories or condolences may be sent to www.talbotfuneralhomes.com
