Bruno Holub, 82, of Superior, died Thursday, Sept. 20, 2012, at St. Luke's Hospital, Duluth.
Bruno Holub, 82, of Superior, died Thursday, Sept. 20, 2012, at St. Luke's Hospital, Duluth.
He was born Sept. 10, 1930, in Lowow, Poland, son of Wladyslaw and Stanislawa (Szafranic) Holub. He moved to Superior in 1950.
In Duluth, Minn., on June 23, 1962, Bruno Holub and Viola Block were united in marriage.
Bruno retired as a weigher for Harvest States, after many years of service.
He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and it's Travel Club, and the Elks Lodge 403.
Preceding him in death were his parents; and sister, Elzbita Fabijanska.
Survivors include his loving wife of over 50 years, Viola; step-daughter, Marie (James) Brochu; step-son, Frank Maki; grandchildren, Melissa (Chad) Henriksen, Glenn Maki, Jeannette Maki, and Mary Louise Maki; great-grandchildren, Cameron Dale, Lillian Nelson, Anastasia Maki and Joseph Maki; brother, Tadeusz Holub; sister-in-law, Diane Haner; brother-in-law, Jerome Block; nieces, Aleksandra (James) Oslund and Katarzyna Holub; and other relatives in Poland.
Private services will be held at a later date.
Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N. 19th Street, Superior, is assisting the family with arrangements.
