Lawrence Gene Riedasch, 64, of Maple passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2012 at Golden Living Center of Superior.

Lawrence Gene Riedasch, 64, of Maple passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2012 at Golden Living Center of Superior.

Larry was an avid hunter and other shooting sports. He liked to ride motorcycles, four wheelers, and spending time with his family and friends.

Larry was an avid story teller. He could spin yarn better than a weaver. Larry graduated from Superior Senior High in 1965 and then graduated from Pierce College where he earned his degree in nursing. Larry married Barbara Treadway on December 6, 1969. Larry retired from the Army after 29 years and St. Mary's Medical Center after 24 years.

He was preceded in death by his mother Alice, father Gene, and brother Paul.

Larry is survived by his wife Barbara; daughters Krista (Mark) Nelson and Wendy (Ryan) Lock; grandchildren McKenzi, Langdon, and Owen; brothers Bob (Lynda), Bill (Launa), and Brian (Linda); and many nieces, nephews, and special friends Clint and Roxy Mattson and Mike Delich.

In lieu of flowers make a donation to Bong-Hofstedt American Legion Post 409 in Poplar, Wis. 54864.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the 3 p.m. memorial services on Tuesday September 25 at the Cremation Society of Minnesota, 4100 Grand Ave, (218)624-5200.

I remember Larry very well, though we were never real "close". He had a most friendly personality and a real "way" with a good story. One couldn't help but like the guy. We graduated together from the then "new" SSHS in 1966, please don't make us older than we already are. My most sincere condolences to his loved ones, may you always find comfort and joy when you think of him. Joe Yanda
