Norman Severin, 81, Parkland, died Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012 at St. Luke's Hospital, Hospice Unit, Duluth.

Norman Severin, 81, Parkland, died Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012 at St. Luke's Hospital, Hospice Unit, Duluth.

He was born on Jan. 27, 1931 in Superior to Peter and Ema (Royal) Severin.

Norman was a member of the local contractors union. He liked working on motors of any kind, hunting, fishing and he helped build several homes for his family. He enjoyed going to the East End Café for coffee first thing in the morning and just before noon.

Norman is survived by one daughter, Tammy (Jay Pettit) Zawacki, Minnetonka, Minn.; four grandsons, Michael (Beth) Degand, Sycamore, Ill., John Caulfield, Minnetonka, Minn., James Caulfield, Apple Valley, Minn., Nick Zawacki, Minnetonka, Minn.; three great-grandchildren, Cynthia, Dakota and Samantha; three sisters, Delpha, Loretta and Barbara; two brothers, Stan and Lyle and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife Ella June; his parents and brothers and sisters.

Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. until the 6:30 p.m. memorial service on Friday, Sept. 14 in the Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home with Rev. Sarah Kerkes of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, officiating.

RIP Norm. So many memories with you at the Choo Choo Bar, then Log Cabin, off we all go to Happyland and then Somewhere Else. My deepest sympathy to the family. Kathy Buchanan
