Thomas M. Buchanan, 64, of Superior, Wis. entered into heaven on Sept. 5, 2012, at Solvay Hospice House, Duluth, Minn.
Thomas M. Buchanan, 64, of Superior, Wis. entered into heaven on Sept. 5, 2012, at Solvay Hospice House, Duluth, Minn.
Tom was a fun loving man with a kind and sensitive heart and a spontaneous sense of humor. He always put others before himself and cherished his time with loved ones. He will be missed dearly by his children, siblings, grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was born Dec. 3, 1947, in Superior to Marjorie (Williams) and Robert A. Buchanan and remained a lifelong resident.
He graduated from Superior High School with the class of 1966. Tom worked as a food broker for Food Enterprises Inc. and Kuehn Pearson Brokerage. He also was employed by the Memorial Blood Center and the Capri Bar. Tom also loved sports, especially karate, football, softball, golf and curling. He was a past member of the Superior Curling Club. He also coached and helped organize Pony League Football in Superior.
Tom is survived by his daughter, Kate (Bobby) Nuttle of Enumclaw, Wash.; a son, Mark (April) Buchanan of Avon, Minn.; grandchildren, Noah and Morrison Nuttle and Addison, Ashton, Korbin and Kennedy Buchanan; a brother, Robert (JoAnn) Buchanan of The Villages, Fla.; two sisters, Beth Buchanan of Superior and Laurie (Bob) Zahn of Champlin, Minn. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Tom's memorial service will be held Saturday, Sept. 8th at United Presbyterian Church in Superior, Wis. at 11 a.m. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service.
