Arlene Schroeder, 74, Park Falls, Wis., passed away on Sunday, Sept. 2, 2012 at the Flambeau Hospital in Park Falls, Wis.
She was born on Oct. 24, 1937 in Stillwater, Minn. to Everett and Lillian (Colby) Peterson and spent her younger years in Poplar.
She graduated from high school in Jordan, Minn.
Arlene enjoyed reading, camping, and her most recent passion was growing orchids.
She is survived by children, Dennis (Stephanie) Schroeder, Jordan, Minn., Diane (Dave) Starks, Park Falls, Wis., Luanne (Robert Buck) Schroeder, Akeley, Minn., Lynette (Alan) Lance, Lakeville, Minn., Lisa (Tim) Velishek, Elko, Minn., Amy (Rich) Booth, Prior Lake, Minn., 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sister, Donna Nelson, Poplar; brother, Everett "Bud" (Kathy) Peterson, Onalaska, Wis. and nieces and nephews.
Arlene was preceded in death by her parents; a brother-in-law, Henry "Tiger" Nelson; and niece, Shelley Meyer.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. memorial service on Saturday, Sept. 8 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lake Nebagamon with Pastor Darrell Kyle, officiating.
Burial will be in the Poplar Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers for the service will be Timothy Schroeder, Jonathan Gadd, A.J. Lance and Christian Velishek.
Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
