Alice Ann (Lane) Barnard, 63, Superior, died Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012, in Madison, Wis.
Alice Ann (Lane) Barnard, 63, Superior, died Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012, in Madison, Wis.
She was born on Nov. 3, 1948, in Siren, Wis. to Loren E. and Lorain F. (Roatch) Lane.
Alice graduated from Northwestern High School in 1966.
She married Wallace Barnard on April 29, 1967, and celebrated 45 years of marriage.
Alice and her husband Wally, owned and operated Mr. B's Bar in East End Superior for 27 years and they also owned and operated rental properties for over 30 years.
Family was the most important aspect of her life, especially her grandchildren.
Alice had a huge heart and saw the best in everyone.
She enjoyed her years of bowling at the former Waletzko's Bowling Alley.
She loved gardening, reading, collecting cookbooks and playing computer games. She also enjoyed deer hunting, camping and short road trips with her husband.
In addition to her husband, Alice is survived by one daughter, Kathy Barnard, Superior; one son, Tom (Kelly) Barnard, Superior; six grandchildren, Amanda, Kaitlyn, Meagan, Ryan, James and Garrett; one great-grandson, Adam Richard Barnard; one sister, Penny Jo (Lindquist) Liable, Superior; several nieces and nephews and her special canine friend, Sophie.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her stepfather, Sam Lindquist, one sister, Paulette Frikart; two brothers, Kyle and Lyle "Buzzy" Lindquist and infant brother, Thomas.
Visitation will begin at 12 Noon until the 1 p.m. memorial service on Friday, Sept. 7, at Zion Lutheran Church with Rev. Patrick Ziems, officiating.
Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery.
Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
