Beverly J. "Betty" Horn, 79, of Superior died Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2012 in Essentia-St. Mary's Medical Center, Duluth following a very brief illness.
Beverly J. "Betty" Horn, 79, of Superior died Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2012 in Essentia-St. Mary's Medical Center, Duluth following a very brief illness.
Betty was born May 8, 1933 in Wascott to Leona (Hoyt) and William Bennett and was a longtime Superior resident. She was a graduate of the Gordon, Wis. school.
Betty was an O.B. nurse's aide at the former Superior Memorial Hospital for many years.
She enjoyed playing cards, bingo, sewing and quilting. She also enjoyed poetry and writing poetry and was a published poet. She was a very caring person. Her pride and joy were her grandchildren.
Betty is survived a daughter, Rhonda Horn of Duluth; five sons, Randie Horn of Richfield Minn., Rickie (Desi) Horn of Gordon, Ronnie Horn of Superior, Reggie (Laurie Peterson) Horn of Princeton, Minn. and Reed Horn of Hugo, Minn.; her grandchildren, Aaron, Abby and Brandon; three brothers, Ronnie Bennett of Corydon, Ind., Bill Bennett of Bonners Ferry, Idaho; and Vern Bennett of Eltaurus, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Tom; a son, Rory Horn; brothers, Harold, Marvin "Mugs" and Irvin; and sisters, Verona "Sis" Brittan, Geraldine Bennett and LaVeral "Verle" Mullins.
Visitation will be one hour prior to her funeral at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 5 in Bayside Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Pavola officiating. Inurnment will be in Greenwood Cemetery at a later date.
