Mom will always be remembered as being strong and independent. She grew up in a time, when if you needed something you had to do it yourself, from canning, sewing everything from clothes to curtains, knitting, gardening, cooking and baking all while raising children or taking care of others. She worked outside the home during periods of her life, as a waitress, for the Manney Shopper in Superior, and retiring from Kraft Foods in New Ulm.
She enjoyed travel, friendship, being creative and handy work.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Marty, parents, Robert Faufau, Gladys and Edward Longtin.
Judith is survived by her children, Mark (Barb) Mahla of Superior, Becky (John) Severson of Superior, and Vikki (Scott) Amys of Superior; grandchildren, Angela Nelson, Luke Severson, Lauren Phillips, Taylor Phillips, and Jakob Mahla; great grandchildren, Addison, Olivia, and Aubree; siblings, Forest (Catherine) Faufau of Green Bay, Wis., Mary Lou (Jim) Kroening of Rhinelander, Wis., and Robert (Gloria) Faufau of Tomahawk, Wis.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday Aug. 31 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Cremation Society of Minnesota, 4100 Grand Ave., Duluth, 218-624-5200.
