William Roland Kempton, 77, of Oswego, Ill. died peacefully Sunday, July 22, 2012, at his residence.
William Roland Kempton, 77, of Oswego, Ill. died peacefully Sunday, July 22, 2012, at his residence.
He was born April 29, 1935 in Superior, the son of the late Roland L and Cecelia (nee Hase) Kempton.
He was employed at Caterpillar Tractor Company in Aurora, Ill. for over 30 years prior to his retirement in 1994. He was a member of the Auroraland Auto Restores Club.
He is survived by his children, Cindy (Dave) Shore of Port St Lucie, Fla., Judy (Scott) Summers of Shabbona, Ill., Brian (Lenora) Kempton of Lincoln, Neb., Kenneth (Tammy) Kempton of Lincoln, Neb., Rev Michael (Sandy) Kempton of Hazel Park, Mich., Tim (Sharon) Kempton of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Steven (Sally) Kempton of Montgomery, Ill., Robin (Rebecca Marsh, girlfriend) Kempton of Oswego, Ill., Todd Kempton of Chicago, Ill., Greg (Stephanie) Kempton of Arlington Heights, Ill.; twenty-one grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, one great great-grandchild; two sisters Marjorie (John) Garin of Lima, Ohio, Jean (Don) Wallin of Superior; two brothers James (Hazel) Kempton of Elida, Ohio, Lawrence "Butch" (Mary Kay) Kempton of Superior; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by parents, his wife Barbara (nee Rott) Kempton, son Rick Kempton and a sister Rosemary Hanson.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 1 at 11 a.m. at Church of the Good Shepherd, 5 West Washington St. (RT 34) in Oswego, IL.
Memorials may be directed to his son's church Hazel Park Church of the Nazarene 696 East Mahan Street Hazel Park, MI 48030.
