Luke Joseph Voigt, 9, Iron River, Wis., passed away on Saturday, Aug. 18, 2012. He was born on Sept. 10, 2002, in Tomah, Wis. to Paul and Laurie (Anderson) Voigt.

Luke Joseph Voigt, 9, Iron River, Wis., passed away on Saturday, Aug. 18, 2012. He was born on Sept. 10, 2002, in Tomah, Wis. to Paul and Laurie (Anderson) Voigt.

Luke was entering the fourth grade at Iron River Elementary School.

He was a great son and older brother. He loved Jesus and he loved life.

In addition to his parents, Luke is survived by one brother, Daniel; maternal grandparents, Carl and Elizabeth Anderson; paternal grandparents, Frank and Mary Voigt, Pierz, Minn.; four aunts, Wendy (Rod) Brown, Terri (Tom) Bagwell; Vickie (Jon) Lintula, Julie (Lynn Derdoski) Voigt; three uncles, Randy (Gina) Anderson, Tom (Tracy) Voigt and Mark Voigt; many great aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Jacob.

Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 22, in the Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home and will continue at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 23, until the 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Anthony Catholic Church in Lake Nebagamon. Rev. Don Kania will be celebrant.

Pallbearers for the service will be Thad Lintula, Joshua Lintula, Mitchell Lintula, Jaan Lintula, Mark Voigt and Talitha Lintula.

Dear Voigt Family, My sister & brother-in-law are parishioners at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Iron River. My prayer of the heart goes out to each and all of you. May Luke remain in your minds and hearts as you mourn the physical loss of him and may God bless you with Luke's spiritual presence throughout your grieving and beyond. Through Jesus Christ. Amen.
