James Dudley Cooper, 69, of Superior, died Sunday, July 22, 2012, at his residence.

James Dudley Cooper, 69, of Superior, died Sunday, July 22, 2012, at his residence.

He was born Nov. 13, 1942, in Chicago, Ill., and grew up in Elkhart, Ind., son of Melvin and Helen (Long) Cooper.

James served his country with the United States Navy aboard the USS Enterprise.

His work history included his love for carpentry and working with various projects from boat making to fine cabinetry.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and brother, Robert Melvin Cooper in 1965.

Survivors include his sister, Barbara Ann Duncan, Kingston, N.Y.; and dear neighbors, the Penney family.

There will be no service in Superior.

Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N. 19th Street, Superior, is assisting the family with arrangements.
