She was born to William J. Trebilcock and Enid G. (Pedersen) Trebilcock in Superior and lived there until the age of five. The family then moved to Hawthorne where she was raised.
Kathleen was a graduate of Northwestern High School. She completed her degree in art at the University of Wisconsin-Superior as well as earning her teaching credential. She married her husband of 50 years Donald C. Johnson in Lake Nebagamon. They lived in Chicago, Ill., Milwaukee, Wis., then moved to Santa Barbara, Calif. where they live and retired. Kathleen (Kay) and Don travel every year back to enjoy friends and family in Lake Nebagamon.
Kathleen is survived by her dear sister, Carolyn (Ron) Collette of Spokane, Wash.; five sons, Jay (Sheri) Johnson of Modesto, Calif., Paul (Amy) Johnson of Santa Barbara, Calif., Craig (Roni) Johnson of Salinas, Calif., Mark (Mary) Johnson of Ventura, Calif., and James (Kristina) Johnson of Santa Barbara Calif.; 14 grandchildren, Beth, Jeff, Josh, Hannah, Joel, Caleb, Emma, Mitchell, Erica, Cade, Trista, Luke, Jeannie and Levi.; four great grandchildren, Trevor, Tyler, Zander and Drake; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Kathleen was a gentle soul, who enjoyed family, nature and adventures. She had a compassionate heart. Her faith was steadfast to the end and she will be greatly missed.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 28 at 2 p.m. at Mission Covenant Church, 5161 South County Road P, Poplar. Following, a time of fellowship and refreshments will be held in the church hall.
In lieu of flower, memorials may be made out to Samaritan’s Purse, to help with flood relief efforts in Moose Lake, Minn.
