Ellen J. Sibila, 78, of South Range, died Tuesday, July 24, 2012, in her residence after a long battle with cancer, surrounded by her family.
Ellen J. Sibila, 78, of South Range, died Tuesday, July 24, 2012, in her residence after a long battle with cancer, surrounded by her family.
Ellen graduated from Superior Central High School in 1952 and married Roy Sibila in December of 1952.
She had worked as a C.N.A. for 26 years and also had been employed at Western Electric in Duluth.
Ellen was very caring and always thinking of others.
She loved baking, cooking and traveling.
She is survived by her husband, Roy; four children, Bob Sibila, Tammy (Richard) Peterson, Stacie (Rob Ott) Sibila and Rodney (Jean) Sibila; four sisters, Edna Abrahamzon, Irene Moretto, Arlene Olson and Lorraine Archambeault; a brother, Lester Vendela; and eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Sam and Hilja Vendela; a daughter, Linda Marie Sibila; and two brothers, John and Kelly Vendela.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the 2 p.m. memorial service on Friday, July 27 in the Downs Funeral Home, Corner of 19th Street and Ogden with Rev. Wesley P. Koehler officiating.
The family wishes to thank St. Mary's Hospice for the care and compassion shown Ellen and her family.
