Arthur F. Pank, 73, Superior, died Thursday, July 19, 2012, in his home.
Arthur F. Pank, 73, Superior, died Thursday, July 19, 2012, in his home. He was born May 21, 1939 in Superior to Francis and June (Johnston) Pank.
He served in the United States Marine Corps.
Art was employed as a revenue officer for the Internal Revenue Service for thirty years retiring in 1994.
He married Yvonne Cieslicki on December 18, 1962 and celebrated forty-nine years of marriage.
He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church of which he was treasurer for many years. He loved to walk. He walked 36,476 miles between 2004 and 2012. He never missed a sporting event that his children and grandchildren were involved in.
In addition to his wife Yvonne, Art is survived by one son, Bill (Marie) Pank, Duluth; one daughter, Cheryl McDonald, Superior; six grandchildren, Bryan, Matthew, Aric and Joey McDonald, Kealey and Allison Pank; his mother, June Pank, Superior; one sister, Linda (David) Byrka, Superior; one brother, Donald (Roberta) Pank, Superior and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Francis “Fran” Pank.
Visitation will begin at 10:30 AM until the 11:30 AM memorial service Monday, July 23 at Christ Lutheran Church, Superior, with Rev. Timothy Ludwig, pastor of Peace in Christ Lutheran Church, Hermantown, officiating.
Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren.
Should friends desire, memorials may be made to Gillette Specialty Health Care, o/c Stacie Walker, 200 E. University Ave., St. Paul, MN 55101.
