Evelyn M. Stromquist, 78, of South Range died Saturday, July 7, 2012.

Evelyn M. Stromquist, 78, of South Range died Saturday, July 7, 2012, at Solvay Hospice House, Duluth.

She was born Oct. 28, 1933, in Superior, daughter of David and Maureen (Anderson) White.

Evelyn was a member of Country Peace Presbyterian Church, an elder of the church, choir member and ladies aide. She also belonged to the Homemakers Club and Birthday Club.

One of her favorite pastimes was snowmobiling.

Preceding her in death were her parents; son Kenneth in 2001; and grandsons Jeremy in 2001 and Andrew in 2004.

Survivors include her husband of more than 57 years, Arvid R. Stromquist; daughter, Becky (Leo) Sapik, Peoria, Ariz.; son, Robert (Brenda) Stromquist, South Range; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and brother, Forrest White, White Bear Lake, Minn.

Visitation begin at 10 until the 11 a.m. service Wednesday, July 11 at Country Peace Presbyterian Church, 4694 S. County Road A, Superior. Rev. Richard Blood will officiate.

Committal prayers will be held at Greenwood Cemetery, Superior, at a later date.

Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N. 19th Street, Superior, is assisting the family with arrangements.
