Edward O'Brien, 71, a resident of Superior, died on Wednesday, June 6, 2012, at the Solvay House in Duluth after a battle with Cancer.

Edward O'Brien, 71, a resident of Superior, died on Wednesday, June 6, 2012, at the Solvay House in Duluth after a battle with Cancer.

Edward Owen O'Brien was born on May 22, 1941, in Superior to parents Leo and Delores (Jerome) O'Brien. After high school, he joined the United States Marine Corps for several years and was a unit boxer. On Sept. 15, 2010, he was united in marriage to Tamara Dittel in Superior.

Edward is survived by his wife Tamara "Tammi" of Superior, children: Robie Topping of Poplar, Sean (Gloria) O'Brien of Texas, Jason O'Brien of Wausau, Shamra O'Brien of Superior, Eddie O'Brien of Calif., Jeremy Summerford of Duluth, Dawn (Herb) Snedeker of Superior, many grandchildren, and sister Dawn Marie Danielson of Superior.

A memorial service for Edward O'Brien will be held on Saturday, June 9 at 1 p.m. at the Solon Springs Community Center. Interment with military honors will occur at a later date.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Solon Springs, Wis.

So very sad to hear of Eddie's passing. He was a good friend of mine and I will miss him very much.

I am sorry to hear of the passing of Eddie. I have some vague memories of him at my Aunt Junes when I was younger and they were always good. My condolences to the family and he will be missed by everyone whose life he touched. Wendy Quinn

Ken Kilgore So sorry to hear about Eddie's death. He was a great guy and had a great sense of humor. Eddie was an excellent boxer, and I have great memories of watching him box at the Labor Temple. He will be missed.
