Ruel Francis Fleming, 85, of Herbster, passed away on Thursday, March 29, 2012, at the St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth.
Ruel Francis Fleming, 85, of Herbster, passed away on Thursday, March 29, 2012, at the St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth.
He was born July 25, 1926 in Viroqua, Wis., the son of James & Julia (Strait) Fleming.
He is survived by a daughter Kathy (Rodney) Dahlen of Stoughton, Wis.; a son Tim Fleming of Herbster, Wis.; a daughter-in-law Nancy Jean Fleming; four grandchildren Kyle (Andrea) Dahlen, Abby Dahlen, Rachel (Justin) Parrott and Ryan Fleming; a great-grandson Kade Andrew Dahlen; and three sisters-in-law, Virginia Fleming, Judy (Pat) Barney and Yvette Fleming.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Donna Jean on July 14, 2008; a son David Fleming; four brothers, Donald (Gladys) Fleming, James (Blanche) Fleming, Howard (Maxine) Fleming and Raymond Fleming; two sisters, Doris (Gerald) Henry and Carol (Agrim) Thompson; and a brother-in-law Jerrol Tewalt.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. A veteran's service conducted by the American Legion Corpus Johnson Post No. 531 will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 16 at the Herbster Community Center Gym. A celebration of life will immediately follow, with Pastor Larry Jorstad officiating. Lunch will be served after services are complete. The sharing of "Ruel Stories" during the service will be welcomed. We are coming together as a family and a community to remember a man as he lived his life and shared it with others.
