Alice C. (Schultz) Gudowski, 92, longtime Superior resident, died Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at St. Francis in the Park, Superior.

She was born on March 11, 1920 in Superior to John and Mary (Zanuzowski) Schultz.

Alice attended St. Louis School and was a 1938 graduate of the former Central High School.

She married her childhood sweetheart Theodore Gudowski on Nov. 5, 1941, in Carlton, Minn, and they had just celebrated 47 years of marriage before his passing in November of 1988.

During World War II, while Ted was serving in the Army, Alice worked as a secretary in Washington, DC, from 1942-1944, for the Office of Economic Warfare, Department of Defense. After the war, she worked for the Globe Shipyard from 1944-1946. She became a homemaker until her children were in school and then was employed as a secretary for Holden Insurance Company; Powell, Gee & Hendricks, Attorneys; and the University of Wisconsin-Superior, in the Language & Literature Department until her retirement in 1983.
