He was born Aug. 26, 1937, in Duluth to Clara and Anthony Ronca.

He attended Superior Central High School, graduating in 1955. Jim then attained his bachelor of science in education at Superior State College. He graduated in 1959 and began his teaching career at Medford High School, teaching history, English and journalism and also coached football and curling until 1966. After earning his master's degree in education in 1967, he worked as a guidance counselor and teacher at Horace Mann Junior High in Neenah, Wis. He was a dedicated educator who loved his staff and students and looked for the best in everyone.

"Jimbo" was a passionate man loved deeply by many. He was a small town man and an avid reader which gave him knowledge of a view of the world he was not shy to share. Those who knew him will speak of the amazing talent he had to entertain people with stories and jokes. Always quick-witted, he had the uncanny ability to make those around him laugh.

Jim was a wonderful son, husband, father, grandfather and uncle. Family meant everything to Jim. He was happiest entertaining folks with his loving wife, Joan. He was so very proud of his three sons and their wives and five grandchildren. He enjoyed spending time in the Hayward area at their lake home on Sand Lake and wintering in Arizona.

Joan, We are so sorry to hear of the passing of Jim. We will miss his jokes at the class reunions. It won't be the same without him there to share them with all of us. Hang on to all the memories that you have shared through your lifetime together. You have our deepest sympathy. Jerry and Carol Plummer
