Inez Carlson, 86, Poplar, died Monday, April 16, 2012, at the Middle River Health and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born on Nov. 27, 1925, in Zaring, Iowa to Ingebret and Alma (Tullberg) Knudson.
She married Delbert "Del" Carlson on June 23, 1945, in Duluth, Minn. and celebrated 66 years of marriage.
Inez was a member of Mission Covenant Church in Poplar and she was active in Douglas County 4-H. She enjoyed sewing and crocheting afghans. She really enjoyed working with the children when she was employed with the Maple School district.
In addition to her husband Del, Inez is survived by three daughters, Beverly Jensen, Superior, Janice (David) Stack, Superior, Delores (Danny) Thormodsgard, Poplar; one son, Denis Carlson, Barron; seven grandchildren, Todd (Raeann Hamlin) Stack, Angela (Ahmed) Maamoun, Rachel Stack, Christopher (Staci Johnson) Stack, Heidi (Steve) Karshbaum, Tyrel (Carly) and Orrin Botten; two step-grandsons, Daryl and Dwayne (Jessica) Thormodsgard; five great-grandchildren, Madison, Meradith, Teagen, Joseph and Allison; Six step-great-grandchildren, Ali, Rawia and Charlotte; Conner, Alaris and Jade and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Iver Knudson and Adrian and Curtis Apple and one sister, Edna Riveland.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Memorial service on Tuesday, April 24, at Mission Covenant Church in Poplar, Wis. with Rev. Darryl Nelson, officiating.
Burial will be in the Poplar Cemetery.
Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
