Hildegarde Geneva Josephine (Grube) Paulson, 91, long time resident of Poplar died April 1, 2012, at her home surrounded by her children.

Hildegarde Geneva Josephine (Grube) Paulson, 91, long time resident of Poplar died April 1, 2012, at her home surrounded by her children.

Hildegarde was born Jan. 27, 1921, to Rachel (Shere) and Edward Grube in Arlington, Minn.

She married Leonard Paulson on Nov. 27, 1943, in Superior.

Hildegarde was preceded in death by her husband Leonard V. Paulson in 1996 and her son Leonard (Butch) Paulson in 1995, five sisters, one brother and her beloved dog Jiggs, affectionately known as my little man.

She is survived by her children; daughter; Gayle Paulson, Poplar, Sons; Bruce Paulson, South Range, Cal (Janet) Paulson, South Range, Brian, Poplar, Vaughn (Kelly) Paulson, South Range, Dennis (Nancy) Paulson, Lake Nebagamon; a brother, Orville (Bernieta) Grube, Grandchildren; Mike (Sherry) Olson, Steve (Sherry) LePage, Stephanie (Jon) Lynch, Brandi (Quinn) Musch, Victoria Paulson, Heidi and Cody Paulson. Great-grandchildren Calvin Olson, Tyler and Justin LePage, Payten and Riley Lynch, her devoted dog Muggs, and several nieces and nephews.

She was an excellent cook and baker, known for her raspberry jam, cinnamon bread and Swedish coffee. She will be fondly remembered as a loving and caring mother and grandmother who cherished her family. It is time for her to rest pain free. Until we meet again.

A private burial at the Poplar Cemetery is planned. Officiating at the service will be Rev. Joseph Brygger.

A luncheon to celebrate Hildgarde's life will be held Saturday April 7, from 12 p.m. Noon to 3 p.m. at the Amnicon Town Hall.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Krissa Christian for her loving care and to the Hospice Care team at St. Luke's Hospital for their wonderful care., especially Cheryl and Tonika who visited twice weekly.

Dear Gayle, I am so sorry to hear of your mother's passing. I will always remember her beautiful smile and her friendly ways. I will keep all of you in my prayers especially Gayle who was my very best friend throughout our school years. She will be missed by many! Kathie Nikula(Nykanen)

Paulson Family, So sorry for your loss.. I still remember how Hildegarde and Leonard (and Gail) would come to all the softball games to watch their boys play. I always enjoyed talking to them. She will be missed! Brad, Terri & Kristine
